Cause
My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in the Spring
of 2009. It was a shock to both her and our entire family. My Mom has
since gone through surgery and seven weeks of radiation and her
diagnosis looks good. These unexpected circumstances brought my family
together and made me remember my childhood. My Dad was always taking my
brothers and me on canoe trips. He used to tell me that one day he
would like to paddle across Lake Ontario. This dream never came true,
so I have decided to cross Lake Ontario for the both of us.

In an effort to fulfill
my Dad's dream as well as help breast cancer victims, I have decided to
raise money for the breast cancer non-profit "Sustain Inspire Survive (SIS)
" by canoeing across Lake Ontario. Every time I talk to someone or read
the paper, I am in the presence of someone who has been affected by
this terrible disease. I hope that this journey will be an inspiration
to others to actively fight against breast cancer.
Mission
The target date for my paddle across will be July 27th, at 5pm. It will start in Sodus Point, N.Y and end in Prince Edward Pt, Ontario, approximately 40 miles across. This location was suggested by my friends at Pack Paddle & Ski, Randy and Rick French.
With Lake Ontario's unpredictable weather, this will not be an easy trip. Also I will be doing it alone with only a guide boat following me.
Goal
Looking for sponsors to help with expenses and raise money. My goal is $10,000.00 and we are thinking of many ways to raise money such as, dinner, raffle tickets, T-Shirts , etc.
Make a Donation
All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly to Sustain Inspire Survive (SIS) , a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All levels of donations are welcome. Thank you for your support.
Checks may be made payable to SIS and mailed to:

I have teamed up with Dave Curtis from Hemlock Canoe to make a dream a reality. Dave has been so kind to make a canoe to use for this adventure. This is a canoe called the SRT. It is a solo boat. A solo boat is a canoe that has only one seat. Go to HemlockCanoe.com to learn more.
Jeanette Fenti has been so gracious to help with the project. She has been there the whole time to start a web page, contacts, and much more.
